Shopping scripts are the routines we develop for buying our food. It's the auto-pilot program we run on when we enter the supermarket, in fact it starts well before then, because it decides which supermarket we go to, whether we grab a shopping trundler or basket, which aisles we go down and which products we look at. Can it impact our diet quality? And what if the answer is yes?

I hadn't thought much about my love/hate relationship with supermarkets until yesterday. It turns out supermarkets are far more important in your life than you might think. You probably think that what your mother and father taught you about healthy eating has more impact on your diet than the way your supermarket lays out its shelving - but I'd question that after reading the latest scientific research...
